Backyard Camping

Reka is a member of the local Girl Guides — which I’d roughly translate as girl scouts.

Since we’re still in lockdown, they unfortunately can’t meet in person or organize live activities. But they diligently hold their online meetup every week, always with a special theme and task. They even came up with the idea of camping in the backyard!

Reka was super excited about it. We set up the tent in the garden, threw in some sleeping bags and snacks, and she “camped” right there at home. She was so proud of herself.

It’s really nice to see how the leaders are keeping the community going even under these circumstances. The kids still feel connected to their group, still have something to look forward to each week.
